Fifty years after the Supreme Court struck down the “separate but equal” doctrine that produced segregated and unequal schools, the nation is still searching for the right formula to provide all children with an equal opportunity for quality education. The Institute for Educational Leadership, The Century Foundation, and the Center for American Progress will mark the anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education by hosting a roundtable discussion of leading education experts to focus on the future of education policy in our nation and examine strategies for fulfilling the promise of Brown, including racial integration, economic integration, housing integration, fiscal equity, school choice, and standards-based reform.
